Tattoo Care

Care for your new ink is pretty simple and every artist will have slightly different advice.

The goal is simple – speed up healing and prevent infection. For our recommended process, see our tips below.

Keep tattoo covered for a minimum of 4-6 hrs. Larger pieces may need to be covered for longer.
Once the bandage is removed, wash the tattoo with warm soapy water, making sure to remove all residue (that gooey stuff).
Allow the tattoo to air dry for 10-15 minutes.
Apply a thin layer of lotion ( ie. alcohol free, unscented ), 2-3 times throughout the day. Too much moisture or over use of ointment and lotions can cause scabbing.
Try to keep the tattoo out of water as much as possible, do not submerge it in water.
After approximately 4 days, the tattoo should flake like a mild sunburn.
Do not pick or scratch tattoo while it is healing.
Keep tattoos out of the sun as much as possible and it is recommended you wear sunblock on the tattoo to keep it looking vibrant.
